Air Fryer Fish and Chips

Enjoy your favourite fish and chips with much fewer calories. This air fryer recipe offers fish fillets that are just as crunchy and golden as the deep-fried kind but have much fewer calories. The simply seasoned fries make the perfect side.

Ingredients

Fish:

  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2/3 cup crushed cornflakes
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 pound haddock or cod fillets
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Tartar sauce, optional

Fries:

  • 250gm pre-cut french fries (9mm thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon sall

Directions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.
  1. In a large bowl, toss the fries with oil, pepper and salt. Place the fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 5-10 minutes till tender. Toss the fries to redistribute, and cook for another 5 minutes till they are crisp.
  1. In the meantime, take three shallow bowls. Mix flour and pepper in the first one, and toss corn flakes with cheese and cayenne in another. In the third bowl, whisk the egg with water. Set aside.
  1. Take the fish and sprinkle it with salt. First, dip it into the flour mixture to coat both sides and shake off excess. Next, dip in egg mixture, then in the cornflake mixture and pat to help the coating stick.
  1. Remove fries from the air fryer basket and fish in it in a single layer. Cook for 8-10 minutes until the fish is lightly browned and just beginning to flake easily with a fork. Make sure to turn it halfway through cooking.
  1. Serve hot with french fries and tartar sauce!

Air Fryer Sausages

Now, this is something you’re probably used to cooking on the stove, but it’s actually more convenient to make sausages in an air fryer because you don’t need to watch them, flip them, or do anything; they cook evenly without any effort.

 Total time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

6 sausages (any type)

1 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

  1. Preheat the air fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes.
  1. Prick each sausage a few times with a sharp knife. If

  1. Cook for 10-12 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking (if needed).

Ingredients

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (regular or gluten-free)

¾ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup butter softened to room temperature

½ cup peanut butter smooth

½ cup brown sugar

½ cup sugar

1 egg

2 tablespoons milk dairy or non-dairy

Directions

  1. Preheat the air fryer at 350°F for 5 minutes.
  1. In a medium-sized bowl, mix together all-purpose flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  1. In another bowl, mix together softened butter and peanut butter (you can use an electric beater for this). Add sugars and mix until all ingredients are well-combined.
  1. Add the egg and milk into the bowl, and mix well to combine.
  1. Slowly add the flour mixture in small increments. Mix until just combined, as over mixing can ruin the batter.
  1. Roll about a tablespoon of cookie dough into a ball. Use a fork to flatten the cookie. Repeat till the mixture is completely used.
  1. Place cookies into the air fryer basket or onto the air fryer tray.
  1. Air fry the cookies at 350°F for 6 to 7 minutes.
  1. Remove the cookies from the air fryer once done, and let them for a few minutes before devouring them!
