Total time: 40 minutes

Serving size: 4 servings

Ingredients

Fish:

1/3 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 large egg

2 tablespoons water

2/3 cup crushed cornflakes

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 pound haddock or cod fillets

1/4 teaspoon salt

Tartar sauce, optional


Fries:

250gm pre-cut french fries (9mm thick)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt


Directions:
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes. 

  1. In a large bowl, toss the fries with oil, pepper and salt. Place the fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for 5-10 minutes till tender. Toss the fries to redistribute, and cook for another 5 minutes till they are crisp.

  1. In the meantime, take three shallow bowls. Mix flour and pepper in the first one, and toss corn flakes with cheese and cayenne in another. In the third bowl, whisk the egg with water. Set aside.

  1. Take the fish and sprinkle it with salt. First, dip it into the flour mixture to coat both sides and shake off excess. Next, dip in egg mixture, then in the cornflake mixture and pat to help the coating stick.

  1. Remove fries from the air fryer basket and fish in it in a single layer. Cook for 8-10 minutes until the fish is lightly browned and just beginning to flake easily with a fork. Make sure to turn it halfway through cooking.

  1. Serve hot with french fries and tartar sauce!

Now, this is something you’re probably used to cooking on the stove, but it’s actually more convenient to make sausages in an air fryer because you don’t need to watch them, flip them, or do anything; they cook evenly without any effort.
