Understanding basic types of wedding flowers
Flowers set the wedding tone and accentuate the beauty of the bride and the ceremony. Wedding flowers have always been a great symbol of joy and happiness. Thus, weddings equate flowers for style, joy and taste. Flowers should be present not just in the wedding ceremony but also in the reception. If brides have the bouquet, the reception venue and tables used have centerpieces, which are mostly made of the most attractive flower arrangements. Needless to say, choosing the right wedding flower is very significant. Here is a simple, yet logical checklist for types of wedding flowers to be prepared.
Prepare enough bouquets. In attractive and luxurious wedding ceremonies, bouquets are not exclusive to the bride. There are specific and special bouquets as well for maids of honor, bridesmaids, toss-away and of course, the flower girl. Check to make sure the bride's bouquet is a standout in the occasion. The maid of honor's bouquet is also prettier and more sophisticated than the bouquets of other bridesmaids. Toss-away bouquets are small flower arrangements that are thrown by the bride as a ceremonial tradition. There could be separate bridal and toss-away bouquets.
The groom and other men in the entourage should have floral boutonniere, which are worn on the chest area of suits. Such wedding flower arrangements should be prepared for the groom, the best man, fathers of both bride and groom, grandfathers, ushers and even the ring bearer. The color scheme for boutonniere should match the color used in corsages, which are worn by other ladies in the entourage, including the mothers of both the bride and the groom and the grandmothers.
Wedding flowers also include centerpieces and other floral arrangements used in the ceremony venue and the reception. There should several floral centerpieces used in the occasion, including those in the head table, gift table, buffet table and bar. In some cases, there are also wedding centerpieces found in information tables, where guests inquire about seating arrangements. If bouquets are considered necessities in weddings, so are table centerpieces. Such wedding flowers are helpful in defining and setting the general mood of the ceremony and the party that comes afterward in the reception.
